Export earnings

The value derived from exports which remains in the Dutch economy. This is the export value minus the value of imports needed for these exports throughout the entire Dutch production chain.

Earnings from exports by a sector are the total earnings in the Netherlands obtained from the export of goods and services by this sector. These may also include goods (partially) produced or traded by another sector (e.g. wholesale trade). Thus, earnings from exports will not entirely remain in the exporting sector.
