This study contains a time series of economic indicators for the river basins in The Netherlands.
This study takes place in the context of the Water Framework Directive. This directive requires member states to produce economic analyses of their use of water. This study produces this analysis at the level of the river basin, of which there are 4 in the Netherlands. This information will be used in the river basin management plans and for reporting to the European Commission. This study describes the economic activity in the river basins using data from the National Accounts for the years 2010, 2015 and 2017. There are 12 sectors of the economy which are considered due to their role as users of water or polluters of water. Commissioned by: Rijkswaterstaat.
