ESF participant characteristics monitor 2009 (Dutch only) - Characteristics of participants in the ESF project (provisional results)
By way of the European Social Fund (ESF), the European Commission (EC) makes resources available to help people improve their skills and hence their job prospects. In the Netherlands, the Agency of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW Agency) is responsible for implementing the subsidy scheme. In this context, the SZW Agency requested Statistics Netherlands’ Centre for Policy Related Statistics to compile data on characteristics of project participants in 2009, such as age, gender, employment status, educational level, ethnic origin and generation, and whether they claim a disability benefit. In 2009, over 221,000 people participated in around 780 projects which applied for ESF funding.
